Also testifying before the committee were officials from the Departments of State and Defense, as well as a legal expert in war crimes prosecution, who answered a variety of questions including on Russia’s presence and actions in Syria, holding the Assad regime accountable, humanitarian assistance, food insecurities in the region, and prosecuting war crimes in international courts.
